You know what it’s like to walk into a store and see an awesome pair of shoes...

but they are just too narrow for your wide feet?!

So much that you can practically feel the pain of future bruises, blisters and bunions?

The options are disheartening:

Buy a size up? Still too narrow.

Break them in? Never works.

Wear ugly shoes? Not an option!

I'm a teacher, a walker, a runner, a dancer and a hiker. My feet have carried me through thousands of hours of standing, strolling and striding through classrooms and landscapes across the globe.

My feet are 6.5 Wide Width (D) or Double Wide (EE). I sometimes wear 7 or 7.5 Medium (B) or European size 37/38.

My biggest challenge?

My forefoot is wide and my ankle is narrow, meaning I have "triangle feet." Even when I purchase wide fitting shoes, my ankle sometimes slides out of them. So I generally need an ankle strap or some kind of foot-hugging mechanism.

To top it off, I need arch support because I overpronate; and I need reliable all-around cushioning due to my high level of activity and minor injuries from over the years.

Still, just because we have wide feet does not mean that we have to suffer bad fashion or physical pain. I created this blog and Instagram to highlight beautiful shoes that are wide-fitting, comfortable and fun to wear.

Each week I will blog about a pair of wide-fitting shoes that have grabbed my attention for their style and comfort.

This is a work in progress, so stay tuned for updates to this website/blog.
